Exploring the endless possibilities

Laser cutting is a technology that uses a laser beam to cut or engrave all kinds of materials such as wood, acryl, leather and other fabrics.

When the focused laser beam is directed at the material, it either melts, burns, vaporizes, or is blown away by a jet of gas, leaving an edge with a high-quality surface finish. It’s typically used for industrial manufacturing applications, but the technique is also suited for schools, small businesses and hobbyists. During her graduation from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute she used laser cutting on various materials, which resulted into experimental structures and shapes. It became clear to her that this technique would give her endless possibilities and challenges in designing.
